A busy summer drumming with Temple Funk Collective as part of the Dutty Moonshine Big Band festival tour, including the Shangri-La Hell stage last weekend at Glastonbury. Played at 4am to a Huge crowd of 5k people who stuck around after Andy-C and Friction who played just before us and it was incredible.
Other festival shows this summer include Bestival, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness, Camp Bestival and Beautiful Days.
I’ve been doing composition for films. Did some soundscapes and music for a film by Angle Sharp Media which is entered for the 48 Hour Film Challenge 2015.

Just back from 8 days touring Ireland supporting LA celtic rockers The Young Dubliners playing originals by Brendan De Belder along with Danny Rico for Brendan’s project Bitter Hands Hit The Spot. It was a blast. Love the hospitality of the Irish and the enthusiasm of Americans.
Had the privilege to meet one of the great funk pioneers at Metropolis Studios, London while at a playing of some original Parliament master tapes. Never heard Starchild with such high fidelity, a treat for the ears.
As a bassist and a drummer I love sounding my bass parts through the drum kit, creating parts that compliment and support the groove but add tasteful complexity. I’ve composed some rhythm section grooves to simulate a laid back funk situation for the kind of parts I write as a rhythm player, and to show off a bit too!
Thanks to Mike Bannard (recording and mixing) and Aaron Delgado (filming and editing).
Showing off in the studio last night recording bass and drums for a collection of showreel / profile videos with help from Mike Bannard engineering, Aaron Delgado filming (pictured) and CooZ’s studio (http://www.coozes.com).
Happy to say that I’ve just got my first work as a freelance, I will be writing and recording a selection of tasty hip hop grooves on bass and drums for Joberg rapper Rowan Groom for his upcoming debut album(s).
Not much on him yet, only just getting the music together, but check out his thought provoking styles here: http://youtu.be/CbnNP474I-E
Excited to soon be putting together some videos featuring me in the studio functioning as a rhythm section playing both bass and drums for a funk composition! With help from friends with shiny studio engineering and video editing skills.
